My approach is to attack all spurious tones, whether they originate from the power supply rectifiers or from external equipment. "RF" is a convenient short-hand for anything above the audio band, but clearly some of the noise is within the audio band to begin with.I've had a lot of audio benefit from treating unrelated video and computer gear in other parts of the house. Power Wraps and cheap EMI/RFI filters built in to surge protector strips are effective on these sources.
The ground loop is a real entry path for RF noise, in my experience, as well as the speaker cables and interconnect cables. Even Magnepan speakers, with lots of aluminum wires glued to Mylar panels, seem to be good antennas.
