I also cannot think of anything at all that would support directionality of a wire or a fuse within an ac circuit.

It is possible to make transmission lines directional, but that is a simple consequence of the speed of light. Not a result of material properties. For materials to be directional, it would have to be sensitive and non-linear in both epsilon and mu, which is not something I've seen in any normal metals or insulators.

So fuses and wires and outlets?? I haven't seen a darn thing that supports the concept yet.
