You're right, of course. And when I opened one up to look, I found something VERY disturbing. This was one I made a long time ago, with the crossed-over wires at the RCA plug end. I had subsequently sent it along with a bunch of other stuff to be cryoed. Now I see that the sheaths of all three wires (black/white/green are split, exposing the copper underneath. Guess I need to get into the others! Thanks for your help, Dave
