you linked to cryo applications..I do that for a living..

All that stuff is rather mundane (well, to me anyway :-) ), and completely off topic to the cryogenic treating of materials to change their properties.

NASA does not, nor have they ever, perform a procedure on their materials to gain an advantage they cannot measure using a science they do not understand. All that they do is measurable, repeatable, derives specific benefits (such as hardening via temp reduction below the martensite finish temperature), and well within known science..if it isn't, they expand the research until the effect is well within known science..

The have learned the hard way, that what they don't understand can come back to bite them..

As for the technology, they are a great resource for learning..if it helps audio, all the better..
