When I was researching pots vs stepped with vishay resistors someone emailed me directly stating their vishay stepped sounded no better than the vishay cermet pot.I am glad to see that mine is the vishay cermet pot. It shows point of manufacture in Mexico. The sound is simply delicious in every way.
For 12.50 each ( I require two ) this is such a deal! Yes I am cheap!
I have read a bit about the "perfect pot" by using say a 100k ohm linear and a second resistor in a fake-law configuration to make a 22k ohm log pot.
At least for now, I do not feel I need to rush out and do this. The linear pots are working fine for my application.
