A better method would be to drill out the PCB holes just enough to fit the larger wire into it for a true direct soldering. However, it depends on how much copper is left available on the PCB for a proper solder joint.Otherwise, how are you securing the power cord to the CDP? Is it secured to the chassis' back with a bushing or grommet, or just hanging onto the PCB through a hole in the chassis?
