Mike,If you did all those at once it's hard to determine what was responsible for the changes in tone. My bet is the diodes and the tubes did the most, the loss of the "hard edge" is why.
I like old yellow wrapped Rel-Caps (they were called "Wonder-Caps" for a while back in the 90s). The film and foil yellow Rel or Wonder caps are really good IMHO.
analogue, I'd think twice before making changes if you have the yellow caps in there. Just my $0.02 worth anyway. Good luck!
