hmm, why would I try something you yourself called a "very shortlived" improvement in a prior post in this forum?I gurantee you that a hardwired soldered connection of a fuse creates a permanent highly improved connection (sand the surface, establish metal to metal contact between fuse and wiring, then solder), plus it eliminates the crappy white metal clamp that usually holds the fusef rom the circuit. This method clearly improves the connection well beyond what any contact enhancer sprayed on the fuse can do. Interestingly, I saw a hardwired fuse inside the Sony DVP999es - a rather respected transport. Why would they do that other than to rake in some service cash when the thing blows?
Regarding the fluids - I've been using ProGold and DeOxit on a regular basis on all contact surfaces with good results, bi-monthly repeat applications seem to suffice. I never used DeOxit without following it up with ProGold, so I can't comment on how short-lived plain deOxit applications are.
