Had you tried roller-ball suspensions with your support beams while shelfless?I've found that a thin layer of museum wax between the acrylic bases of my DIY roller-ball suspension cups and the aluminum beams further reduces the support's sonic signature. This stuff is sold in Ace Hardware, and is used to secure tschotschkes to shelves in earth-quake country.
