No matter what is inside the Pigtails, they cannot absorb or release significant energy in the audio frequency range because they do not complete a circuit.A circuit is a continuous path for electricity from and returning to an energy source.
If you wired the metal center pin of a flashlight bulb to one pole of a dry cell, the bulb would not light. I don't have to try this experiment because I accept circuit theory as truth.
The bulb will not light until another wire is attached to the surrounding metal sleeve of the bulb base and connected to the other side of the dry cell.
If the Pigtails had two wires each, and each wire was attached to a different side of the speaker terminal, then it would be possible that some sort of electrical circuit inside was present and able to modify the sound by absorbing, releasing, or dissipating energy in some way.
Now, if we are talking about the radio frequency (RF) range, then some sort of effect is possible. I know from experiments on my system that my amplifiers are susceptible to signal degradation through RF entry into the amplifiers through the speaker terminals, and I've described the networks and treatments I've found to be effective on the AA.
However, it seems to me that a single-wire dongle is a haphazard way to modify the RF susceptibility of a speaker cable. There are simpler, cheaper, and well-explained techniques for doing so.
It seems to me that there is a basic problem with the Pigtail device. Either the maker is sincere and just profoundly confused about how circuits work, or the device is a fraud designed to take advantage of non-technical audiophiles.
