Re: Help with Bass Traps

Hi There,

Thanks for the info! I am pretty much set, but 2 final questions to ask if you don't mind:

1. In my room, the placement of the traps will most likely be in the room corners and along the wall behind the speakers. I was thinking about an alternative design for some separate absorption panels especially for HF absorption to reduce echoes. This is since placing them on either side of the room may be possible. The panels would thus be needed to absorb, since the tube traps may not be able to be placed strategically along the sides to absorb at the reflection points. Do you know of any particular panel design which may work? Would it work to simply put layers of fiberglass (which density?) in a wooden frame and cover with batting/burlap?
2. To get as much absorption possible (the room is very lively) would it be okay to remove all the foil from the pipes? Also, would it benefit absorption to cover the pipes with batting before covering with burlap/grill-cloth or is that just to keep the fiberglass particles in?

Thanks for the help,
Will keep you posted on results,
X
