As far as I understand the AC voltage is rectified with a single bridge and two rectifier filter caps are connected in series to make a voltage divider that gives an "artifical" zero point. But then the output voltage should be around +/-6V. This sounds strange a bit. But if it's true you can of course move the bridge to the external PS (but not the caps) and still have 2-wire connection. But it will never give the improvement you can get from using a transformer with a center-tapped secondary connected to the ground and 3-wire connection. If you don't like drilling you can use a stereo jack connector used for headphones that will probably fit well.
However may be the DAC uses single-polar power supply (e.g. like cheap Midiman Flying Calf), then you can use 2-wire connectors. What do you mean by "series of caps", some caps connected in series or just some caps?
In any case if someday you'll be moving the rectifier with the filter caps to a separate box don't forget to leave some caps at the original place of filter caps. Otherwise the regulators may become unstable.
