Jon,So far the ferrite has been able to offer the same effect if placed 5 feet off the service panel or 150 feet off the service panel. No matter which circuit its applied to it still offers the same effect of lowering mechanical noise in motors. Even with the A/V system I don't really notice any difference between the different circuits. At the wall outlet of my system I placed it for convience reasons only and not performance. I did find it to work slightly better wired into the ac plug/wall outlet connection (I do not use any wall outlet or ac plug in this location) vs. using it wired into an ac plug, but only by a small margin.
