Gray sands of Ocean Beach

Chris Isaak supposedly lived in the Sunset, and liked to go surfing along Ocean Beach. We never did see hm. These photos at Ocean Beach were not during a winter. Rather they were in late July!

FWIW, these dogs probably preferred the cold, foggy and windy Ocean Beach weather, versus the hot inland temps.

Our footprints in the intertidal zone. Can you believe that Burning Man actually got its start, here at Ocean Beach?

The sand can be hard to wash off your body and out of your hair and clothing.

In the mid-80s I attended Presidio Middle School, on 30th and Geary. Other than baseball practice in Golden Gate Park, I usually went directly home, after school. But when we were in high school, we used our Muni Youth Passes, to go all over S.F., including Ocean Beach. A few times a year, some new-to-me audiophile will swear that he, while in S.F. in the 80s, 90s, and 00s, crossed paths with me and my friends.

I had friends/classmates, who lived in the outer Richmond and Sunset. I personally never saw a Walkman-toting guy dancing at dusk, near the windmill. But that sounds right.

Same girl as in the photo immediately above, but in Hawaii.
