When we were growing up in San Francisco in the 1980s, we'd look for the outbound 38 Geary buses, which went all the way out to Ocean Beach (above). Not only was Ocean Beach the end of several Muni lines, it was the edge of the continent. Therefore, 35 years ago, a boombox playing the Traveling Wilburys' "End Of The Line" seemed right at home.
By the time "End Of The Line" came out, Roy Orbison had already passed away. And so, in the video, he is represented by his guitar in a rocking chair.
