... did you move or what?
Hang on, weren't you finishing a degree?
West end is an area that has some legs for the next few years.
And this next year is a great time to buy.
I probably renovated 8 or 9 places in Britain and it's fun to do. NOt quite so much fun as you spend evening after evening sitting in dust, but fun anyway!
It's also the best way of moving up the property ladder.
All you need to do is look at A LOT of places first and then figure out THE THING that a place has going for it.
A view, a big living room, a something that you can accentuate.
The redevelopment plans for West End are enormous, and whilst in maybe 10 years it will have lost its... bohemian(?) flavour (just like New Farm) it will massively increase in price.
With the housing slump, repossessions etc, the rest of this year, even with the rate reduction we just had, is going to be hard on the market and thus a good time to buy.
You will become a Saturday morning wanderer round open houses for a few months mate!
Keep all the agents' details of places in a big file and write notes on them about the places. Soon you will know the market better than they do.
You will also have a wealth of information that you can refer back to.
Happy hunting!
