My 2011 intel Mini's dated browser became increasingly incompatible with websites.
My Logitech Squeezebox touch lost its wifi connection to the Mini and would only provide internet radio.
I pre ordered an upgraded M4 geared toward hobbyist level video editing including the $100 10GB ethernet, what the hell. My tech savvy is dated so bear with me. At Apple's suggestion I had them do the migration.
I updated all the ethernet cabling from CAT 4&5 to CAT 7 SSTP (shielded over shielded twisted pairs) including the connection from the modem booster to the Squeezebox which was still not functioning completely.
I found Lyrion had taken over the Logitech Squeezebox forum and provided a 2025 software upgrade which I downloaded to the M4 Mini and bingo the Squeezebox Touch came back to full functionality.
Connection between the Touch, the Metrum Mini NOS DAC and the preamp were unchanged.
Within the first few minutes of listenings every parameter of presentation of my cheap little digital source was stunningly improved.
Unfortunately, since I made so many changes at the same time I can't say which of those changes had the greatest affect.
If you're going M4 get ready for USB-C. All the best.
