Agreed -- and treble reflections are the worst enemy of perceived timing

The highest frequencies seem to be most prone to reflection off of hard shiny surfaces, and due to their short wavelengths these delayed echoes may reach your ears with sufficient phase error to mess up not only your perception of transient response but also your sense of image placement within the soundstage. Thus, the more absorbent material covering hard surfaces in the vicintity of the speakers, the better. Thick carpets, window drapes, fabric or sculptured foam wall hangings, etc. all help.
