Here on the Northern Rivers of NSW Australia.....

..... We have “buskers” or what you probably call “street musicians” everywhere around here. I must admit however, that has been many years since I have heard a “band”, of any description, playing live unamplified music other than “marching bands” that play here several times per anum for some cause or another. In my local town there is a “cocktail bar” where a guy tickles the ivory every Thursday, Friday, Saturday night. Also, on most Sundays one of the local hotels which has a large beer-garden (outdoor area), hosts musicians to come and have a jam session. So even though it is a little disorganized there is a cacophony of guitars, stringed instruments, woodwind, brass, all types of percussion and a piano. All is “live” and completely “unamplified”. It can sound pretty darn good too. It is not like a proper band though.

Smile :o)
