No, can't go that way. I definitely don't like shrill.Do you have any recommendations in this price range? Used is fine. I'm looking for musicality, but also very dynamic and fast... I don't like stuff that's bogged down by "warmth". I've heard too many systems that were both warm and easy to listen to, but too sluggish for my tastes.
Here's what I'll be using:
-The Rotel as a transport
-DIY solid silver IC's throughout
-Bottlehead Foreplay v. II preamp
-power amp section of NAD C320BEE
-Goertz MI2 biwire
-Focal.JMlabs 706S speakersSo, as you can tell from the system, nothing shrill! I value an involving presentation, with an expansive soundstage. Lots of detail, but not at the expense of harsh, edgy sound. Bass need not be super deep or tight, as I have standmounts, and I've never been a bass nut, anyway: midrange on up is where it's at for me.
Any recommendations?
Music: Ray Lamontagne, Miles Davis, Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Coltrane, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, CCR, Bob Dylan, Amos Lee, Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Doors, etc.
Cheers,
Chris
