RE: One Channel Hum Affected by Volume

Hi Dave, thanks for your "input" - see what I did there :)

Yes, the issue persists no matter what input is selected nor tape in or out selected.

The ground I installed for the PS is mechanically fastened to the chassis. Usually before I do this I use a file to scratch and scuff the area where the star lug is compressed to ensure there is no oxidation in the contact.

The ground for the tubes, which was left original, is mechanically riveted to the chassis via a stand off lug, so there is no solder needed for contact there.

You'd think one channel hum would be easy to trace, after all we've eliminated half the amp search area-lol. I can't find any differences between the two sides. I still have not had time to try swapping the volume leads. I am hoping that will allow me to rule out the preamp section. ( or rule in)

It's also easy enough to pull the ground since it is just one screw. I can undo it and use a jumper wire to try different spots on the chassis to try and see if it makes a difference or even a change.
