You would think so but not true. I mainly listen to rock but used to listen to WNCN 104.3 (NYC) which a classical station with no compression at all just to enjoy the sound quality. IMO it was the best sounding station on the dial. Many years ago they announced a change in management and format, they were going to rock. I just couldn't wait... and then it happened, they became WQXR (I think at the time) now WAXQ. They went on the air with as much compression as I've ever heard on any FM broadcast. What a disappointment!
