How to wire - 2-24 gauge conductors, with a braided shield for signal wire?......

I am going to use 2 - 24 gauge conductors that are silver plated with a braided shield from the RCA input of a SET amp to the signal connections (internally inside the amp). I am wondering what is the preferred method of hooking this up.

1.) use just the 2 wire conductors to wire the RCA input and cut the shield off.

2.) Use one of the wires to the center signal pin of the RCA input and the other to the ground of the RCA twisted with the shield for the ground. use the other 2 wires at the signal end, and not connect the shield there and leave it 'floating'

3.) Leave the shield floating at the RCA input, but connect it with the other ground wire at the signal end?

4.) Ground the shield directly to the chassis and leave the other end 'floating'

5.) Something Else ???

TIA
