Interesting resistor discussion. I have a stock of 30 year old .5 and 1 watt Ohmite resistors. Assumed they are carbon comp. Was working on a tube preamp signal path, didn't have the values I needed except the Ohmites. I measured until I found < 1%, finished the work and the sound was bad, grainy. Traced the problem to the resistors, replaced with 1% metal film, night and day difference.Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Fred
