Hello all - I "inherited" a Pilot SA-260 (EL34 stereo) amplifier that had been subjected to a partial rebuild by the previous owner. The all of the resistors currently in the amp are Rikens with the exception of the power supply circuit. I'm worried that I won't like the sound of the Rikens since I'm a vintage man at heart.
I have enough carbon comps in my stash to replace all the Rikens. I have used vintage carbon comps in previous restorations and like the sound.
Should I build it up with the Rikens and see if I like the sound, or should I go with vintage carbon comps in the signal chain?
John
