RE: Nak decks

The 480 was(and is, assuming proper restoration) a very good deck. Frankly, even the so called "Bottom Of The Line" Nak decks were a lot better then much of the same category decks from other makers. That said, it's all down to personal preference, how condition they were all in, etc.

As for Nak made tapes not sounding good on other machines, I've not experienced that. I have tons of tapes made decades ago on lots of different decks, but definitely not Naks, that sound great on my current lineup of decks.
