First I would check the antenna and it's connections.
Than you could try to change the front end tubes, one at the time and test the tuner. Pay attention to the position of the tubes, so later you can put them back to the same place. The tubes are EC88/6DL4 in the position V1 and V2. If this wont improve the sensitivity of the tuner, you should seek professional help. Miklos
