Thanks for the history lesson

I pretty much used ECG exclusively back in my TV repair days during the early 80's. Mainly because they were the only one in town. Switched to SK when I moved out west. (again because that what was sold locally)

I can't recall ever having any trouble with ECG's not being a proper replacement, but I was working in pretty main stream stuff. I do remember that Sony, Sansui, GE, Crown, Zenith and a few others never could be crossed. Even back then you could mail order many OEM parts cheaper than ECG or SK anyway.

These days with so many OEM part distributors online and the fact that most consumer electronics are built so cheap they are in a sense disposable. (That's why I bailed out of the repair business by the end of the 80's) I find it hard to imagine how long even NTE can stay in business.
