So you are feading 8 speakers total?
4 pairs = 4 speakers on the right and 4 on the left?
Your problem is not that the amp never sees more than 8 ohms.
The amp is constantly seeing 2 ohms nominal load!
Thats too low for most solid state amps unless it is specifically designed for low impedance output.
You are burning the amps out and need to rewire in a series paralell configuration.
