stu- thanks. so i can assume that ALL records or 99% will cause some type sway, and is this quote true:Most records are at least a little off-center, so you will see some swaying. To my knowledge, there is only one turntable that can adjust itself to eliminate the swaying you see (sorry, I can't remember the name-any forum members know?), and you'd better be ready to fork over about $6K to get it. At any rate, this will not harm your records. I know a lot of folks on the forum don't care for the p-mount (T4p) tonearms, but they were created to make vinyl more user friendly while not eating your records. IMO, it is better to have an inexpensive properly aligned cartridge/tonearm than an expensive improperly aligned system (guess which one will damage your records??). The more costly tonearm/cartridge/turntable systems are gentler to your records to be sure, but what you're really paying for is more revealing sound, a better sound stage, and quieter playback. Your TT is a good entry-level model until you can afford better, and you didn't have to learn how to install a cartridge and all that that entails.
