It depends on the operating point. I haven't used the 300B in any of my amps, but I played with the load line recently during an unrelated discussion elsewhere. The typical operating point of 350V with a 4K load appears to be very prone to high levels of 2nd harmonic distortion. It's not clear to me why this is popular, other than a willingness to sacrifice distortion for output power.
