RE: Evaluating remote access (VNC) software for impact on sound quality.


Most of these 'full screen' remote desktop control solutions are fairly 'heavy weight' in terms of overhead and CPU load, especially on stripped down low power systems, which some inmates are implementing.

As you mentioned, I prefer a dedicated Remote App, where the player gui is on the remote device whether it be another computer or a smartphone and controlling only the host music player, rather than the entire desktop.
