In Houston, A/C is not an option, it is survival. When I got my 12 tube (per monoblock) MA-1s, it really got too hot, especially for the 4 months that it is really BEASTLY, for my regular central unit (downstairs only) to cope with. I subsequently had a 2 ton central unit installed just for the three rooms that were affected. Works like a charm and it's really not that noisy. My philosophy: you can never have too much music or be too cool.
