I'm sorry to say you've overlooked one important thing about the 6AS7G. It has two sections. In out amps, this means the plate dissipation is 26 watts and the plate resistance is 140 ohms. >>You're absolutely right. Oversight - I know nothing about the tube since all my experience up to now is with PP Mullard circuits. 140 ohms starts to sound pretty damn good. You're very experienced in these things, Mark - what's matching between halves like on a typical sample from Russia? Golden Middle test and match, so that helps. Vector tests, though not sure of matching. Haven't asked Gintares. I also have a Ukranian contact that might be useful. Presumably the unmatched ones are the rock bottom prices for quantities, but postage and packing may swing the balance in favour of tested valves. I'm in Europe, so I wouldn't use the common US suppliers. Andy
