Thank you David. I bought some Zero’s off Paul about 6 months ago but I have been enjoying the A3’s so much that I didn’t feel the need to try them out, I will do so though. My MA1’s are about as tweaked up as it is possible to get (see the pictures page) so these speakers don’t stand a chance of staying standard for long. Before I picked up the A3’s I had already looked at the Kevin Covi mods and of course there is the latest crossover upgrade from Soundlab now that raises the minimum impedance.

As my A3’s are secondhand and have previously been upgraded to the Toroidal transformer I thought that the first thing to do was to take out the backplate and trace out the circuit. The capacitors are Relcap 6 x 8uF PPMF as opposed to Solen 2 x 24uF. I also have an extra inductor fitted to mine! It is a 0.25mH fitted between the –speaker terminal and the resistor bank. Do yours have this?.

With regard to the latest Sound lab mods, do you know the value of the Inductor that is fitted across the Toroidal. Also as the latest resistor bank is now 8 x 6ohms I am assuming that the net resistance is now 12ohms.

On my old Wilson 5.1 speakers Thick Film non inductive resistors were used extensively. Any ideas why these are not used for this crossover.
