I just removed all zeners from my amplifiers and replaced them with standard voltage divider networks. I realize that this may pose a problem, since the grids of the CCS and of the cascode are free to wander along with all the other voltages in the amp, in tune with the AC voltage coming from the wall. But in (my) theory, this could be a good thing (or a bad thing). I will report on the listening results in about a month. (My listening room ceiling is being repaired, so no music until then.)
