Mark, sorry about the confusing mess my inquiry was; two baby's up all night and then a heap o' snow to shovel out! Anyway, the hum is coming from the speakers so I meant only with the speakers hooked up. the DVM is indeed hooked up in parallel directly across the amp's binding posts. The bias is set with speakers removed but to find a relative bias value with the speakers attached I noticed that the hum was eliminated with the DVM in parallel. The hum is present both during normal powered-up condition but is a bit louder with the bias switch engaged. Hope this is a bit clearer! Thanks for your patience!
