RE: Midrange horn wings or baffle question

Lifting speakers off the floor by less than at least a foot has no effect on the low frequency response. It does improve the intelligibility of the mids, which can give the psycho-acoustic impression of reduced bass. Even lifting by a foot won't make much difference in the boundary loading provided by the floor, but it can result in a loss of bass due to boundary sourced cancellation via the reflection off the ceiling.
