On my tri-amped high efficiency system I use tiny class D / T amps - a modded Trends TA10.1 on the high pass (8W / channel) with a ultra low noise linear PSU from AliExpress, a tiny TDA3255 based amp from Ali that costs 25 dollars (yeah, you read that right) and is NOT a kit on the 60 to 500 range, and the two active subs have their own integrated class AB amps.
I find the Tripath sound to be very much to my liking. If you can find a Trends or Amptactic with TA2020 or TA2024, you might be very surprised! And I've owned pure class A amps before!
