It would appear that switchers which operatate at higher than line (60hz) frequencies can recharge fairly quickly, but also do not seem to 'store' much energy.
This means that dynamic power can suffer.
Many power amps feature as much as 3db dynmic power, which you won't find in a switcher powered amp.....of any topology.
Too much is never enough
