One designed in the mono era for mono use and one designed in the stereo era for stereo use?
Just a guess.
Always longed for one of the above (OK, actually two of the above).
Was told by someone who knew a thing or two about early JBL history that the Hartsfeld, designed in the early 50's, was also designed as a 'mono' speaker.
I'd still take two and find two corners appropriate for their placement.
As far as folded horns go, my Edgar Titans have folded mid-bass horns for everything under 500 Hz. down to 80Hz. and the mid-bass images fine.
