--How sensitive are these coax systems to listener location? I need to have a fairly wide sweet spot. Roughly as wide as the sepeakers are separated. The centers will be about 8-10 feet apart and the listening position will be about 12 feet back (at least for now untill we move!)
Pretty dam good. While the 604s or 605s won't give you the "big" sound of the larger systems, they do provide superb...excellent..."to die for" imaging.
--The cabinets, though quite large, look very reasonable to build. I may want to dress them up a bit if they will be in the room. I am also considering insetting them into the wall and gaining another 2-feet of distance to the listening area. I happen to have a storage room behind the wall where the speakers and TV will be located so I may make a built-in system with full access to the back. Would this affect the sound quality adversely? (flush mounted to a wall).
No....It might affect your ability to tweak position afterwards(as has been said)... but done correctly...could make the tweaker cry in envy. ;)
