RE: Oh well, I was accused of advancing "my agenda"

Russ,
What do you call it when you leave that forum, come here, to another one, and put up statements about me that you would not put there? You've got a drunken party thinking I'm looking for 120 dB, which you never would suggest to me would you? And it doesn't end there.

I am going to have to say that you make a pretty strong case, with the post that you put here, above, that you are trying to make your case, seemingly ideologically at that, against some "big amp, big cables" guy, and that's where we go totally wrong.

I'm the one responsible for posting, for example, "5 amps of current and not more, so 18 gauge cable is fine", but you are already rabbid about it, as evidenced by your post here. You just can't seem to let go. It's only a problem if you think you understand, but the nemesis you're speaking to isn't there.

And I mentioned more than once that I accomplished my goals, I had done what I needed to do, but you couldn't stop trying to fix my system.

Now here's the real kicker. We haven't ended in disagreement about anything at this point - NOT ONE THING, except for whether or not amplifiers are less accurate at very low frequencies. But I can't be sure that you'll ever come to see that.

While you're too busy trying to fight a war between whether or not I ultimately believe in big amps and cables, and little speakers, or whatever it is you think you're arguing against, you're not finding me.

Now it occurs to me that I'm in a position where there is no harm really intended by any party. I have to say, it became irritating to me when it appeared to me that all you wanted to do was figure out how to solve my stereo or something, and as you have supported so well here, in fact, that this was on your part some kind of ideological war. That's all in the post you started this thread of discussion with. Just look at it, Russ. It's childishly misrepresentative of me. And then it just goes downhill from there. You severely misquote me, and try to make a "dance on my grave" affair of it, or whatever, right?

Oh, let me go and try that at AudioReview. "Hey guys, this guy says he can stand on his head while he's walking", or whatever. What are you doing, Russ?

So there's a miscommunication. I probably should have just wished you a good day, and may the sun always be on your back. But then, again, you did get it, at one point, as I recall. You did finally say that you were taken with a quad system and hoped to re-do your system just because of it. I think when you said that, that you understood me pretty well. It's not an upgrade, its a conversation.

And I should apologize for jumping the gun on you. As it turns out, I was right about you and your ideological war against big stuff, wasn't I? Well, Russ, no harm, no foul. I don't hold either school of thought against anyone, and I don't make it my position to. There's too many ways to skin the audio cat, and there's too many different people making themselves happy each in their own way. Anyhow, what I was not right about was going off on you, when in fact there was no, I would say, bad intent on your part.

It just started to get old when I felt you were repetitively, and I know this is going to sound hard to believe, but, "preaching to the choir". It got to the point for me where your school of thought was obvious, and I don't think you knew that.

I have no intention of messing with your low load easy on the amp philosophy, and in fact I was the one who put up a diagram of an active system, or at least an attempt at it (which received no reply). I said 18 gauge, and I received no reply to that. I made what would be concessions to your school of thought, which received no reply. I also have conceded nothing, because I am not a "big amp fat cable" guy. That's why that all happened sooooooo easily.

Since you haven't certainly had any bad intent or desire to be bothersome, then I'll have to say I've been in the wrong on that.
