Speakers vs Headphones

There are some recordings where a excellent headphone setup can be extremely enjoyable. I've been using a headphone setup with Chord TT DAC/Headphone setup with Ultrasone Edition 15 Veritas cans. Great tonal balance and clarity with this setup. My issue with headphone setups have been too many require EQ to sound right. It's not easy to get the EQ right without adversely impacting the overall sound adversely. The Chord/Ultrasone setup doesn't need EQ to sound right.

Although I have always loved Stax cans, the Stax amps don't drive the cans optimally. To get the most out of the Stax cans, headphone amps such as the KGSSHV Carbon or Blue Hawaii is needed. Theat costs $$$.
