Stax SRM-007tll & SR-L700 system volume control

Pretty new with my getting into the world of hi-end ear-speaker set ups. Just picked up a Stax set consisting of the L700 ear-speakers and the 007tll energizer amp to drive it. My question is, with so many volume pots, one on the amp one on the dac and one on the source, where is the best spot to control the loudness from? My dac has a fixed volume out option so it can run full throttle without distortion, via 2 volts rca or 4 volts bal, so I'm guessing setting that one at the fixed is a good start. So leaving the tube amp or my source, both having their own volume pot, I'm wonder which one to use as a main volume control for the best sound results?

So should I max out the source volume and control the loudness from the tube energizer amp or visa versa max out the amp and use the source volume pot? Or a combo of both trying to determine the best positions on each dial before distortion or clipping, all done by ear of course?

Any guidance will be appreciated.
