Hi All
Has anyone tried connecting a 3.1 DAC to a passive volume pot and then power amp?
I was thinking, the output stage in the current 3.1 DAC is the same as the L2/L3 line pre amps, so other than a volume pot, do we have a situation where it can go direct and gain SQ still further.
I run Audio Note UK Conquest 300b monoblocks, so would need a passive volume pot to do it. BUt I also run a set of Stax SR-007 MK2 phones and a Stax SRM-717 amp, which has a volume pot on, so that could take the signal direct from the DAC, no problem.
Currently I am using an Audio Note UK pre amp to connect both the above systems.
Any insight would be great!
On this same thought process, maybe Brian could offer a volume option for the 3.1 DAC. The case has the holes ready, so it would just need the pot, connection rod and hole drilled into the DAC perspex face plate.
