Good questions. My DAC 3.1 uses the Hag and it performs quite well. Playing from memory (Pure Music) offers a MAJOR step up in sound quality.
Brian posted here around a year ago about a USB interface being developed by AN that allowed 24/96 playback. There is getting to be a lot of music available in 24/96 that is downloadable from various websites. I get the impression that many people are bypassing the AN dacs (and buying other dacs) because they do not allow playback of high resolution files.
I wonder if the AN dacs would play 24/96 if they received such a data stream from the Blue Circle. I also wonder how the Blue Circle reclock approach compares with operation in asynchronous USB (per Wavelength Audio's 'Wavelink' USB to SPDIF converter). If the Blue Circle is competitive with the Wavelink it will be a bargin at under half of the cost. OTOH, you may get what you pay for. Certainly, the aquarium glue-like construction of the Blue Circle is not inspiring.
Regards,
Bob
