The 6DJ8 circuit isd nothing more than a preamp or an output stage from the previous stage. I have used many different preamps going directly from the DAC chip directly into another output stage. Where the wires connect to the board from the DAC board you can just put in a pair of good quality 2.0UF film caps(of choice)by passing the output stage already there and go directly to the RCA outs from the other end of the caps. You might even like it better just going to your preamp that you are using now.
In that design you are actually going from a cathode follower stage into another preamp stage when you use a preamp with the 2.1. I have bypassed many of those output stages with a 6SN7 stage or something of that nature but it needs to be redesigned. That is why going direct out from the DAC board to the RCA's you can try different preamps to see what you like.
