I have a Kit 1 300B that I have converted to a Kit 2 6550 amp (thanks to Brian). I now find that I have to much gain. I have switched to Altec horns and can barely turn up the volume. I am thinking about switching back to 300Bs. I love the big sound of the 6550s but would like a little more separation in instruments/voices. Will I get that with the 300B version. It's been a long time since I have the amplifier in the 300B configuration. Also, any recommendations on modifications while I am doing the conversion?
