by the huge wall of sound I get from my kit 3s. I have owned Maggies, Quads, Reynauds, and Reference 3A and I prefer the image the kit 3 has to all of them. There is something about the music being suspended between the speakers that I like. It is non specific and ambiance come quite naturally. Usually with a normal box speaker (or even planars) the image will often extend beyond and behind it but I still think about the speaker itself. They never quite blend with the surrounding soundwaves. With the kit 3 the speakers seem out of the equation, they seem synergistic with the room and you end up thinking about music more. FWIW I like a forward sound and that may be part of my preference to the kit 3 as well.
